Now, we're typically not in the practice of turning your attention to games based on movies. All our intelligent readers are well aware of the reasons, but lately, we've seen an encouraging trend; a distinct rise in quality and refinement regarding interactive adaptations of films.
Could Wanted: Weapons of Fate be the next to really break through and provide gamers with a fantastic experience? We've seen multiple gameplay trailers, and we have to say, they're a little more impressive than we initially expected. Furthermore, we're starting to hear some solid behind-the-scenes information that keeps our interest piqued. Some have already spoken of the bullet-time system, which is reminiscent of the now-classic mechanic found in the Max Payne titles, and may have evolved in Wanted . Then there's a description of the supposedly excellent cover system, as provided by HipHopGamerShow :
"The cover system in Wanted shows a level of realism not seen anywhere else before. You can go behind cover and instead of the simple side to side action we see in most 3rd person shooters, you have the option to use the bullet time action effect when coming out of a cover which is amazing and adds to the experience of the game in a positive perspective. Another great aspect of the cover system is that if there is someone else directly behind the location where you’re covering, you can use a quick time action effect which is a close combat with the enemy that allows you to knife him or just simply melee him for the kill; unseen on any game before."
Now, we're not immediately willing to embrace the bold question made at the site ("Gears of War No Longer Has the Best Cover System?"), but the explanation is promising. Third-person shooters really have leaped ahead this generation, and let's not forget that 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand was surprisingly good. Therefore, we encourage all of you to pay close attention to the reviews when Weapons of Fate releases later this month (March 24). Of course, the game could still flop hardcore, but we like to remain optimists 'round here.

I played that demo and I thought it was really crappy compared to all the other games that are actually worth your money. This is a game I will definitely not buy, but where does everyone else stand?
Imma rent wanted II can't see myself droping $59 on this one.
i thought this game was gonna be for DL only, like off psn and live? but maybe i was thinking of something else…hm
Maybe you're thinking of Watchmen: The End is Nigh…?
LoLoLoL. The Watchmen! I dont wannt see more of Dr. Manhattan's italian sausages hanging around.
your so liberal
I know what he means.. the graphics along with the gameplay were dated, almost like a polished PS2-ish game. a very poor demo.
personally as I said in the main forum about this game.. I wouldnt wipe my bottom with it, lol.
But of course, they always say that the demo isnt the final product, so I will be happy to change my mind if they change… everything.
I felt the same way after watching videos for this game, but I'm afraid those feelings have changed after playing the demo. I was severely disappointed.
I gotta be a pessimist here, this game will redefine the failure of the "Hey this movie is gonna be a hit so lets pump a ton of money into a game!" exclamation that seems to pop up every time an action movie is made. If I'm wrong about the game, I don't think I will be about the sales. Don't nobody want this. Now get it off my lawn.
I thought the graphics on the demo were a little old and the whole cover thing a little bit overdone; and the whole bullet swervey thing in your head seems really lame to me, particularly because it was as simple as holding and releasing a button in the game; we should have to work for those bullet swerves…
STOP….
what's HHG.????
i dislike them with great INTENSITY.
i don't watch neither do i read their dumb and batching stories.
PLS STOP….
HEAVY RAIN pls….

just out of curiosity… why would you dislike them "with great INTENSITY" and how would you know if thier stories are dumb and "batching" if you dont read or watch anything from the site?
your only contradicting yourself
Looks like I'm the only person who enjoyed the demo.
Chaining together cover moves leading up to a knife kill worked well and was, dare I say, fun.
There was a knife?
I enjoyd it too, a lot. Will buy it for sure.
played the demo today, the graphics are not that good IMO,and it seemed to get old fast…$60 is just too rich for my blood….
tried out the demo and it seemed like that bourne identity game that came out a while ago only with the ability to curve bullets. kind of a let down because the movie was awesome
@BTNwarrior I agree with u 100% but nobody seem to have played bourne, wanted is a ripoff of bourne game. Hey that game is cheaper then wanted. I rather played bourne then wanted didn't like the demo.
Haha, I completely forgot about the fact that the demo would include the bullet-curving mechanics, and I went through the whole thing not once using it!
I'm gonna sound like such a noob, but how did you do it, I want to know how they designed it (without having to play it again, I deleted it after installing it, not thinking it was particularly good or original. Chaining covers was quite cool though, for a while.)
@ Jazzman
You hold R1 to enter the bullet aiming mode thing and use right analogue stick to get the angle correct. You'd see a red arch on screen and when it turns white that means it'd hit the target, let go of R1 to fire. Good idea in theory but it was way too sensitive imo and sometimes hard to hit the target as they were always moving

the movie was pretty sick tho
Sorry, Wanted SUCKS! Just watch the movie or play the demo and you will have your fill.
After playin the demo i thought it was meh, when ur shootin at an enemy behind cover, u can see their head sticking out a mile yet try blowing it off u cant, u have 2 wait till they stand up. However, i liked the bendy bullet & shooting the fire extinguisher & watching the enemy get their ass sucked out the door lol
Sir your avatar makes me forget about god.
Lmfao, forget about god?
My only problem with the game are the controls, I don't understand why they use L2 for aiming and not L1, it feels real weird in a shooting game using L2 and R1. And why are the cut scene graphics worst then the in-game graphics?
If they fix the controls and polish the graphics this game WILL be huge.

Have you even played it? You use R2 to shoot and only use R1 for bullet curving. Graphics are dodgy mind.
I dont usually like to judge a game based on a demo but from what I can tell, the game focuses too heavily on the cover system, like you couldnt even control your guy properly by just walking and you'd spend the entire game moving from one obstacle to the next. I could be wrong but that's definitely the impression I got
the watchmen actually had better a fighting system imo.. and thats saying something!
I actualy wanted to get this game till i played the demo.Poor 360 owners, from what i've heard the 360 demo is problematic
If they let me feel up Angelina I'll buy it.
I would buy it twice
I downloaded the demo off of XBL. It was the worst 913 MB that has ever inhabited my Xbox 360's hard drive.
Yes, the cover system is innovative, but it's innovative in about as bad a way as possible. It's emphasized far too much. The curved bullet paths are too difficult to use and not effective enough in my opinion. The aiming controls are sluggish. The weapons are too inaccurate. I can only describe the movement controls as feeling completely wrong. The bullet time is usually useless.
Also, why do you shoot fifty times faster in bullet time than you can possibly shoot in normal mode? The guns shoot as fast as SMGs in bullet time, for no readily apparent reason.
I had the patience to play through the demo three times to see if I could actually wring some enjoyment out of it. It turns out, I really enjoyed jumping out of holes I had shot in the side of the plane.

OMG I playd the demo off PSN and it was great…surprised the hell out of me. All the mechanics seem to be in place and are well implemented too. Still to see as yet whether or not it could be repetitive…Hopefully not. The graphics could use some work too from what I saw in the demo.
