Yesterday, we learned that GameStop/EB would be unable to fill all their PS3 preorders, but Toys "R" Us is going to make it…barely.
GameSpot received a simple reply from a Toys "R" Us representative in response to the issue: "We have enough [PS3 systems] to cover presells and that's it." PSX Extreme confirmed with a local Toys branch that they would indeed have enough PS3s to satisfy their preorders. The retailer filled its preorder allotments for both the PS3 and the Nintendo Wii within only a few hours last month.
As the representative above implied, the company will not have any PS3s available on the shelves; they can only cover preorders for the launch on November 17. However, they will have some Wiis ready to go, as the system's availability should greatly exceed that of the PS3's. Nintendo has already stated their goal of shipping 4 million Wii consoles by the end of this year, while Sony's goal is anywhere between 1-2 million (depending on which source you believe).
