If every developer takes a hint from Criterion and begins to look at extra downloadable content as a long-term dedication, we'll all have continually enhanced experiences. The newest add-on pack for Burnout Paradise should drop this Thursday on the PlayStation Store, so get ready for the Legendary Cars!
Announced towards the end of last year, the Legendary Cars Pack features four new vehicles that are like nothing else in the game. The first car Criterion unveiled was the Jansen 88 Special (pictured here), which is a carbon copy of the "Back to the Future" DeLorean. It's not just fast; it can freakin' fly! That's right, set it to hover mode and zip along Paradise streets, although we assume you won't be transported to another time once you hit 88 miles per hour. They revealed the other three cars just a few days later: we'll get the Nighthawk (a super-secret, ultra-rare version of the Carson GT), the Bootlegger (a classic modified Hunter Cavalry), and the Manhattan Spirit ("reimaging" of the Hunter Manhattan). According to a recent Twitter update by Criterion's PosterBoy, this Legendary Cars Pack will drop in just a few days time, and you can pick them up individually are all together in a packaged set. Criterion hasn't confirmed this yet and we don't have a price, but we'd like to think the rumor has a good chance of coming true. After all, hasn't it been – what – two or three days since the last Paradise update? That's just too damn long!
Really, these guys are going above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to downloadable content, and that is not a bad thing. They just keep giving you more incentive to toss the ol' disc back into the system and if you haven't picked up the game yet, well…look what you're missing!

While ever people keep paying for dlc, companies will keep churning it out – it's all extra profit. I understand that criterion have given plenty of free dlc but generally speaking my comment still stands.
I will admit that those cars sound cool.
You kinda make it sound like it's a bad thing. and all of burnout's dlc has been free except for one, the party pack, and we don't even know if this 'will' be priced as of yet
II love the dedication EA put into this game BP has been out for over a year and they still adding dlc to keep it fresh just like a new game hopefully other games will follow suit.
Shame on you if you don't have Burnout Paradise in your collection. At $19.99 on the store there is no reason not to get this Awesome racing title.
I have had this game since day one and I still go back and play it. Most of my friends I have on the PS3 came from this game. Great online community.

Burnout Paradise is the perfect racing game for fans who just want to race! All the cool DLC Criterion keeps giving us is outstanding! Can't wait for the new cars, but where's the new island? That was the first thing they told us about, but it's not ready yet!
i dont play much of paradise since i got it because its free-roaming. i sorely miss the old way burnout used to do this. i have spent at least 10 hours on it, and i have a about 35% of the trophies but whenever i feel like playing it, i play it for at least an hour then get off. it jus doesnt captivate as it once did. if this is free, it will give me some incentive to play it again.
but when they announced the party pack, i thought itd be offline splitscreen, but instead its pass-the-pad kind of play. i was about to download it, but it was priced at the store….that instance gave me another reason to not play it lol
so heres hoping its free….but thats like asking obama to fix the us economy by tommorrow.
=(
Personally I love it. I'm willing to fork out the dough as long as it's reasonable, i.e. $5 to $10 per dlc. Considering how much time I've invested into this game and the entertainment value it's provided me I've definitely gotten my moneys worth.
Keep it coming Criterion.
No batmobile no buy 😀 😀 😀
It better be a fiver or if it's £8 OH NO WAY!!
The problem with pay for dlc is that before you know it you've paid out $100+ for a game and all you've got to show for it is a few extra cars/tracks/costumes etc. The full game no doubt only cost you $60 or less. The LBP dlc is an example of this.
Man, enough with the whining. DLC is a natural phenomenon of this console generation. Don't forget that the profits from DLC provide some of the capital developers need to develop other titles, and that, my friends, is good for us and the gaming industry as a whole. Furthermore, when DLC is well-crafted, (and BP's certainly is), it can keep older titles relevant and profitable.
We need to remember that options are not obligations. If you don't like a developer's DLC, then don't buy it. But it's ridiculous to bitch about something that is good for the gaming industry and is certainly here to stay. Just my $0.02.
