Last week, we learned that LucasArts had terminated development on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next-gen Indiana Jones game, which came as a big disappointment to fans…including Eat Sleep Play co-founder and God of War creator, David Jaffe.
During a recent 1Up interview , Jaffe spoke about his affection for the long-running movie franchise, and he even expressed interest in picking up where LucasArts left off. In other words, he might want to work on an Indiana Jones game if LucasArts was willing to toss the project over to Eat Sleep Play. Jaffe cited "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as inspiration for his "creative development" and he further mentioned that the Indy films were "very important to him." When prompted, Jaffe replied:
"Do I think I will ever (make an Indiana Jones game)? I don't know. I have a great idea for how LucasArts could really take that property and do cool things with it. …if they're (LucasArts) reading this, they should give us a call at Eat Sleep Play. We'd love to talk to them."
Well now, that's an idea. Does anyone else have a problem with putting a new Indy game in Eat Sleep Play's hands? We certainly don't. These guys know games and if anyone is capable of producing an awesome, must-have title based on a movie series (dear God, could it be possible?), it's Jaffe and Co. And at this point, we wouldn't be surprised in the least if LucasArts did give 'em a call…in fact, we implore them to.
Should be nice
Im 99.9 percent sure that the above poster is JoshuaAdams…
well sorry but that .1 percent proves you to be wrong. joshuaadams has his own account buddy
yeah i think it's time to lay off the new guy. you all are just picking on him now.
p.s. I finally got my PS3 fixed!!! and it overheated 2 hours later. I think it's that danged Naruto game that did it.
what are you doing do you have your ps3 in a garbage bag while you us it or something lol
Interesting.. But still I need Killzone 2
sounds good
Well, Lucas Arts have never "given up" on their I.P. They really do guard their I.P. closely. I would be surprised if Eat Sleep Play pick it up… unless Lucas Arts is motivated in acquiring the developer some day; and use the Indy game as a "test" development case with minimal intervention by them.
Of course there will be clauses in any creative/licensing contract/agreement that Lucas Arts would oversee the handling of the I.P; i.e. making sure that its core is not changed or distorted in anyway… keeping characters, environments and stories true to Lucas's original I.P. and vision for Indy; however if Jaffe came up with some very good, a superlative addictive game mechanics and a fantastic world setting, I think Lucas Arts would probably let them be…

i think jaffe would be the perfect person for this type of game 😉
Jaffe is an amazing developer, at least the project would be in capable hands. And even if someone else were to get the liscense for an Indy game, they can't possibly screw it up more than the 4th movie was. An alien spaceship in Indiana Jones!!? Really?! I get the feeling Lucasarts would put an alien and/or spaceship in every movie if they could get away with it.
Spielberg was out of ideas again…
its not going to happen
seems like he might be a glutton for punishment, but if he wants it let him have it. i'd love to see indy swirling chain-blades around ^_^
I thought the preview vidz for the next gen indy were incredible and I still can't believe they dropped it after that much work was done. I say put a LucasArts guy in charge of Creative Consulting and let Jaffe and co handle the rest.
what have Eat Sleep Play done so far besides Calling All Cars?
Nada, they are too new.
They've been Eating, Sleeping and Playing! …and coding, just a little bit 🙂

eh?
meeeeh not too excited 'bout this at all
Another PS3 exclusive?
Nope.
If it happens, it will be multiplatform. I'm sure the PS3 would be the lead platform, though, because it is Jaffe.
Yeah has Jaffe ever done anything on the 360? Not to say he and his team couldn't do it but I wonder if Lucas would be willing to hand over something like this to a development team with experience on only one platform. Seems to me like Lucas would be the type of studio that would not want anything at all to get in between them and a truck of money because the port to one system was not as pristine as it could have been.
Jaffe is not only a supporting dev for PS3, he also sounds like a fan of PS3 when you listen to him.
is this gonna end up being another RPG???? i cant really see indiana jones as an RPG but ok…
I wish Jaffe would do an RPG, just not indy style…
meh Indiana Jones should be left alone, we learnt that lesson with the Cyrstal Skull. LOVE THE LAST CRUSADE THOUGH!!!!
