Far Cry 2 Version 1.01 Now Available

Far Cry 2 is one of the better releases of the year, but there's no doubt it could use a patch. And so…here it comes.

It's a 42MB update that includes all sorts of fixes spanning multiplayer, single-player, and the map editor. In single-player, they've repaired a few weird little inconsistencies, like fixed health changing with the chosen difficulty level, mortar pushing a player through a wall, buddies getting stuck when healing, etc. There's a huge host of multiplayer fixes, including: server's IP addresses now display in the lobby, there are now improved match start conditions, and ranked matches in progress won't show up on the match list. This update should also fix things like crashes and freezing, which we've heard have caused numerous problems. And while we don't normally send a jab over to Microsoft's side, we've heard the 360 version has a lot of problems with freezing…the PS3 version is a bit more reliable. Of course, that could be just more Internet hearsay; we're just repeating what we've heard.

Anyway, if you want to check out the full list of fixes and upgrades provided by this patch – and it's a massive list – check it out here . It's a great game and very worthy of such a patch, right?
