We know European gamers are getting preferential treatment when it comes to the Killzone 2 beta, but that's only logical. After all, Guerilla is a Euro-based development studio, so it makes sense for European PS3 owners to get in on the fun a little earlier.
But U.S. gamers have been wondering when they can see beta invites, and it seems the first batch may have already gone out. A NeoGAF forums member claims to have received his invite via PlayStation Underground, which means a lot of people are going to be checking their inboxes like mad over the next few days. We're still not sure when Guerilla wants to kick off the beta test in the U.S., but we're assuming it's soon. We're also assuming they don't want to run into the Resistance 2 beta test; it would make more sense for them to wait, which means the end of October or early November would seem to be better timing. This generation is all about betas, apparently, especially with the LittleBigPlanet test going on, and more testing guaranteed to be scheduled for future blockbuster titles. It's great for both developers and gamers; the former gets a huge group of testers to sample an early build, and the latter…well damn, we get to play the game early!
If any of you have any information on the Killzone 2 beta – whether you've heard of a start date or you've received an invite – please do let us know. And of course, at this point, we're looking for info from North American PS3 users.
