Want to see what the PlayStation 3 demos shown at E3 were running on?
Thanks to a quick snap from a concealed digital camera, a reporter from the Japanese publication Impress PC Watch managed to get this photograph of Sony's current PS3 development hardware.
Wow. Just, wow. That thing is huge. We're told that this is the same development hardware that companies such as Sony, Electronic Arts, and Epic are working with right now to develop games for the upcoming system.
Before you start worrying about whether or not Japan will slide into the ocean under the weight of multiple PS3 devkits, you should bear in mind that most first-generation development kits are typically this large and this ugly. The first PS2 devkit looked like an air-conditioner, for example, but was later replaced by the smaller and more elegant TOOL unit.
