These days, it seems like every big game release comes with a special Collector's or Limited Edition of some kind. Obviously, Treyarch is well aware of that trend and isn't about to let the opportunity slide for Call of Duty: World at War . At least, so far as Xbox 360 and PC users are concerned.
According to D-Pad Magazine, the details are in for this very cool special deluxe set; when the game releases on November 14, the die-hard fans of this long-running franchise might want to drop the cash for this bad boy. It will feature a metal storage tin (big enough to hold several games, apparently, so a bunch of CoD titles can fit), plus a branded steel canteen. As for digital content, you can expect the benefit of the FG 42 Machine Gun, a VIP status tag for the online multiplayer mode, and lastly, access to an exclusive "double experience week." But there's a small problem- people have only been able to find pics of the Collector's Edition for the Xbox 360 and PC versions…no evidence of one for the PS3 version. Now, we saw this same issue when EA outlined their Dead Space Collector's Edition yesterday, which is evidently exclusive to the Xbox 360 version. Are PS3 owners left out in the cold when it comes to all this special extra stuff? Are they saying we don't want Collector's Editions?
We're hoping the Call of Duty: World at War Collector's set will come to the PS3, but at this point, it seems we can't confirm it. This isn't what owners of Sony's next-gen machine wanted to hear, but we'll keep an eye on things. Come on, Activision, don't forget us!
