Prince Of Persia Secures Release Date

From the time of its announcement, it has always been one of our most anticipated games of the generation. And now that it has an official release date, we can finally add it to our "most anticipated list of 2008."

According to GameSpot, Ubisoft has confirmed that Prince of Persia will release in North America on December 2 and in Europe on December 4. For some odd reason, UK gamers have to wait an extra day before getting their hands on the Prince; it'll launch there on December 5. Everything we've seen concerning this title has been very encouraging, especially the latest gameplay segments shown off at the Leipzig Games Convention last month. At first, we were a touch concerned that Ubisoft was, for the most part, abandoning the gameplay formula found in the last three installments, but we're past that now. The game looks faster and more diverse, and the completely overhauled combat mechanic should add a whole new dimension to a series that once had you fighting dozens of enemies at once. There may be a lesser focus on puzzles, but that doesn't mean they won't exist; they just won't be as prominent as they were in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time .

Anyway, December 2 works out just fine. It cuts close to the Resistance 2 release date, but it wouldn't be the holidays without multiple awesome titles to choose from, now would it? 😉
