Call Of Duty 4 Price Drop Today

Update: Not that this changes the story, but in point of fact, next weekend is Double XP time.  Sorry for the confusion.

Original Story:

As the "Double XP" weekend is in full swing, Activision has revealed yet another incentive to become involved in the online fun: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has experienced its very first price drop, much to the delight of all those who have yet to play this Game of the Year nominee for multiple gaming publications!

That's right, it seems both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game have fallen from the standard price of $59.99 to the more appealing price of $39.99. This doesn't mean it's a Platinum Hit – those are priced at $29.99 – but it does mean it's $20 less, and that should be enough to prompt more than a few gamers to make the purchase. The price drop should go into effect today (according to GamersPlatform), so check with your local retailer to make sure this information is correct. Of course, most of you avid players out there probably played CoD4 last year, but hey, like most holiday seasons, the latter part of 2007 had a ton of worthwhile titles. Perhaps you missed out on CoD4 because it didn't top your priority list at the time, and ever since then, you've been waiting for a price cut. But due to its popularity, the game stayed at $59.99 for a looooong time.

Well, no more. Buy it, bring it home, zip through the awesome single-player campaign, than jump online and take advantage of Double XP weekend before it's over! As of Monday, you'll no longer be able to boost your character so quickly, and it's back to the grind…pun intended.
