Take-Two: Bioshock 2 In 2009, GTAIV Sells Over 10 Million

Sure, you PlayStation 3 owners haven't even had the chance to play Bioshock yet (unless you played it on the Xbox 360 or PC already), but we've already heard talk about a sequel. And according to Take-Two's earning statement – as reported by multiple sources including GameSpot and The HDRoom – Bioshock 2 sits on their fiscal 2009 schedule.

This would probably mean we could see the highly anticipated sequel at some point during the holidays next year, which would of course make it all the more anticipated. At first, the listing on the report showed a PS3, 360, and PC version for Bioshock 2 , but since then, it has been changed to "TBA." This may be cause for concern for PS3 owners, especially if they think Microsoft may negotiate a timed exclusivity deal again… But that doesn't seem very likely with the greatly enhanced PS3 user base, and 2K has said in the past they always intended to bring Bioshock to Sony's machine. Now that it's coming, there's little reason to withhold the sequel, but hey, that's only logic and reason talking.

By the way, the report also shows that Grand Theft Auto IV has sold over 10 million copies as of August 16, which is just plain nutty, but hardly unexpected. It certainly makes Take-Two all the more attractive to EA, but sadly, we can't update you on those proceedings because they're now taking place behind closed doors. Oh well; we're all sick of that by now anyway, right?
