EA To Showcase Need For Speed Undercover Today

Isn't it about time for another Need for Speed ? This series has run very steadily over the years, and if you check your calendars, now is just about the right time to see Need for Speed Undercover .

According to the Videogaming247 blog, EA has confirmed that Undercover will be officially unveiled at its Studio Showcase in California today, which is great news for racing fans. The franchise has taken some interesting twists and bends recently; Need for Speed ProStreet , for example, focused heavily on the underground sport of street racing. Hence, many NFS followers are wondering if EA is going to take another little risk with the next installment. The quick answer, as it pertains to gameplay: no. Here's what EA said in about the game in a brief statement.

"Need for Speed Undercover takes the franchise back to its roots and re-introduces break-neck cop chases, the world's hottest cars and spectacular highway battles. The intense action racing title scheduled for release this holiday will feature international movie star, Maggie Q, as the lead character in the big-budget live-action sequences that propel the games original story forward."

So the gameplay will retain the good old-fashioned, speed-'til-you-bleed format, but it appears there will be more of a story element involved. And as far as we're concerned, hot cars need hot chicks, and if Maggie Q isn't a hot chick, than the Lamborghini isn't a hot car…and that makes no sense whatsoever.  You've seen Maggie play Zhen in "Mission Impossible III" and Mai in "Live Free or Die Hard" (and no, that's not her in this pic; it's from a simple teaser).  Stay tuned for more on Undercover .
