Dead Rising Headed To PlayStation 3?

Early in this generation, Capcom was behind the Xbox 360 100%. They issued several high-profile exclusives for Microsoft's system, including Dead Rising and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition . However, once the PlayStation 3 got going, Capcom decided to bring over the latter, and Devil May Cry 4 launched simultaneously for the PS3 and 360. Furthermore, Resident Evil 5 should also receive a simultaneous worldwide release for both systems.

So shouldn't it stand to reason that Dead Rising should eventually come to the PS3 as well? It may be too late for the original, but if Capcom is planning a sequel – and we believe they are – than it would make perfect sense for Dead Rising 2 to be on Sony's platform. On top of which, Capcom's John Diamonon make a comment over at the official PlayStation blog that garnered plenty of attention: "You haven't seen the last of Dead Rising." A Wii version is coming, so maybe the original for the PS3 isn't out of the question, although we'd almost prefer the sequel at this point. With just about every third-party developer taking a multiplatform approach these days, we'd actually find it extremely curious if some form of Dead Rising didn't appear for the PS3.

Hopefully, we'll get an official confirmation on this in due time, but we'll be happy with speculation for now. We could always use a crazy zombie-slashin' game, with even more of an all-out action flavor than RE. Those of you who played the original know what I'm talking about.
