They said we wouldn't hear or see much about Resistance 2 until they had fully completed Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction , and we're assuming they won't be starting on another R&C until Resistance 2 is complete and finished. …but that's this fall, so shouldn't we start looking for another next-gen Ratchet entry?
Well, according to certain members of the gaming press who have completed the downloadable Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty , a new Ratchet and Clank for the PlayStation 3 may arrive towards the end of 2009. A message pops up upon finishing Quest for Booty that – supposedly – tells us a new R&C arrives during the fall of 2009, although it doesn't provide an exact date. Unfortunately, as PSBeyond reports, this information comes from translated details gathered at European gaming site Gamer.nl, so this is hardly official. No, Quest for Booty isn't available yet on the PlayStation Network; it's scheduled to drop on August 21, which isn't too far off. But hey, if you're a big fan of the franchise, you now have even more incentive to purchase this expansion to last year's stellar Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction .
It wouldn't surprise us at all to hear about another R&C, but it does seem as if autumn of 2009 is quite soon. They do have an established foundation from Future , though, so… We'll let you know if we can confirm that message at the end of Quest for Booty .
