Sony Confirms PS3 Launch Lineup, Pack-Ins, And Pricing

It's time for the annual SCEA Gamer's Day, and Sony has confirmed a ton of important details for North American gamers. This includes the updated and official list of PS3 launch titles, which will consist of 22 total games covering several genres and both original and returning franchises.

So, without further ado, here they are:

Moving right along to the system and the pack-ins, Sony has finally confirmed what we can all expect in our boxes come launch day. Both models of the PS3 will include-

In addition to this set of contents, Sony finally, finally offered a first list of prices. We all had our theories, but Sony never did officially confirm any of them. Well, here they are- first-party software will sell for a suggested retail price of $59.99, the peripherals available at launch include the wireless Sixaxis controller for $49.99 and the memory card adapter for $14.99. A Blu-Ray player remote should hit store shelves some time in December, and retail for $24.99.

And as a special gift, the first 500,000 PS3 units shipped will include a Blu-Ray edition of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Incidentally, this little bonus puts the Blu-Ray version of the movie in consumers' homes well before its standard retail release of December 12.

Finally, and perhaps best of all, SCE president Kaz Hirai has been quoted as saying, "the PS3 is in full production and coming off the line literally as we speak." Okay gamers, if all this doesn't get you just a tad pscyhed for November, you need to check your pulse.
