Alone In The Dark PS3 Delayed Again

If we hadn't already suffered through the horror that was the PS2 version of Alone in the Dark , we'd be upset about this news. And by the way, in the preceding sentence, we don't mean "horror" in the good sense; in the sense that this survival/horror title was satisfactorily terrifying. No, we mean it was horrifyingly horrible.

Okay, perhaps that's an exaggeration, but we were still very disappointed. And now, it appears Eden Studios has been forced to delay the PS3 version another month. Up until now, it had been scheduled for an October release, but according to European gaming site XGN, it has been pushed into November. Why? They don't give a reason, but does it really matter? We know the Xbox 360 version was actually somewhat playable, but by November, PS3 owners are going to have a few top-notch options, and we just refuse to believe that Alone in the Dark will be one of them. The level of competition it'll face, along with the terrible reviews for the PS2 version and merely average reviews for the 360 version, could mean bad news for Atari.

Then again, perhaps Eden will use the extra time to make the appropriate changes, which would in turn give PS3 owners the only solid version of this once-promising title. We'd love to think this could happen, and we're always optimistic, but… Well, here's hoping.
