Midnight Club: Los Angeles Takes Another Detour

The original Midnight Club was one of the first solid examples of flashy, accomplished, intense, arcade-style racing on home consoles. Most subsequent installments have been great fun, but the next-gen installment won't make it for its previously announced release date.

According to GameSpot, Midnight Club: Los Angeles has skidded past its slotted date of September 9 and has landed on October 7. It's the second delay for the highly anticipated racer, and on this same token, Midnight Club: LA Remix for the PSP has also been pushed back to the same date (October 7). Many of the hopeful Club followers out there had expected Los Angeles to launch earlier in 2008, but Rockstar wanted to get some distance between the game and Grand Theft Auto IV , which is perfectly understandable. This is why the game slipped to September, but why the further delay? Well, for now, nobody knows. All we do know is that it'll be out in plenty of time for the holidays, and even though it may have to compete with some other huge titles ( Resistance 2 , Gears of War 2 , etc.), racing aficionados still need something to play, right?

Hopefully, it'll stick to October 7 – October 10 for Europe – and we won't have to report on any further delays.
