If you want to be a kid forever, there's no better place than Toys "R" Us, and now gamers have an even bigger reason to rush to one of the biggest toy stores in the country.
A new promotion, in conjunction with NBC's "Deal or No Deal" game show, has Toys "R" Us giving away 25,000 Nintendo Wii consoles. If you want to play, make sure to check out the Sunday edition of your local newspaper, because that's where this unique little game begins.
The papers will carry two cut-out game pieces – shaped like the suitcases used on the game show – from Oct. 1 through Oct. 28. Shoppers can cut these out and bring them in to the store, where they can either turn in the "Deal" or "No Deal" game piece. "Deal" gets you 10% off one item, while the "No Deal" gets your little suitcase scanned to see if you've won a prize, or a 5% discount on one item. The best part? You can play every week after obtaining new game pieces.
This promotion will also award a single $1 million grand prize and a trip to Los Angeles to attend "Deal or No Deal." But furthermore, and certainly most intriguing for all you Nintendo fans, Nintendo Wii consoles will be awarded to 25,000 entrants. Other prizes include products from co-sponsors Schwinn, Nintendo, Sony and LeapFrog Enterprises. Clearly, this promotion was neatly timed to coincide with the start of "Deal or No Deal's" second season…doesn't mean gamers who've never even heard of the show shouldn't take advantage.
