Ben-DutkaLast week, US and Japanese Metal Gear Solid fans were treated to a very special surprise on the PlayStation Store: the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Database, which is every hardcore follower's dream. It encompasses the entire long-running series, providing information and details on storylines, characters, and relationships. Unfortunately for fans in Europe, though, the Database didn't make it to their region.
Of course, one could always set up a separate account and nab it from either the US or Japanese Store, but even so, Euro fans must've felt just a bit cheated. Well, Konami isn't about to cheat you guys; they probably just experienced that troublesome language barrier- the MGS4 Database will hit the European Store in just a few days on June 26. As MCVUK reminds you, it's a free downloadable add-on, and it will not issue any story spoilers for MGS4. That extra content will be blacked out until the Database detects a save file that proves you've advanced far enough in MGS4 so the information won't act as spoiler. Great feature, we say. A Konami representative added the following:
"Metal Gear Solid 4 Database is a stunning and completely free companion to the series, and will answer any question pertaining to Hideo Kojimas games and characters."
Anyway, the Database isn't non-existent in Europe; it's just a little late. No worries!
