EA/DICE Working On Patch For Bad Company Demo

The playable demo for Battlefield: Bad Company dropped for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last week, and it's one of the more promising demos we've seen in quite some time. However, many users immediately reported a number of issues when trying to play the game online, which is putting a serious crimp in the experience.

Players have been complaining about major lag and a completely broken ranking system, but EA confirmed today that they're "working around the clock" with developer DICE to fix the issue. (source- CVG) And thankfully, it seems they've already repaired the ranking problem: "The stats database has been reinforced and you should now see the correct stats both in-game and on the website," said a DICE rep. Furthermore, they plan to release a patch tomorrow to clear up any remaining issues, and that includes the slow servers. DICE says they've found European players ending up on North American east coast servers (and vice versa), which has been the cause of some of this lag. But no worries; that ought to be fixed by tomorrow. A lot of people are playing: "We've increased the number of servers to cater for an amazing 50,000 players."

Battlefield: Bad Company may not be able to compete with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots , but MGS4 isn't everyone's bag. FPS fans, if you were disappointed with Haze , perhaps Bad Company will be the perfect tonic.  It releases this week (June 13) in Europe and the following week (June 23) here in the US.
