While some sources didn't think too highly of the original Suikoden , this original PlayStation RPG has become a cult classic over the past decade, and is now very difficult to find. It's not as impossible to find as the sequel – current asking price of well over $100 on eBay – but it's still pretty rare. Therefore, RPG aficionados should be excited to hear about this:
According to Video Game Generation, a listing for Suikoden for both the PS3 and PSP has showed up on the ESRB's website, which almost guarantees that Konami plans to re-release the game for download on the PlayStation Store. It may get the standard price of $5.99 or it might cost $9.99 like another of Konami's PS1 classics, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night , but either way, it's a far better deal than eBay. What we're really hoping is that more RPGs and other rare titles will be finding their way online for our downloading pleasure; there are literally hundreds of worthwhile titles on the PS1 that should be made available to a whole new generation of gamers. SotN is a great example of that philosophy, and trust us, Suikoden is well worth playing if you're a role-playing fan.
By the way, if you're interested and go to look up the review scores, you can just take our word for it: this is a great RPG. GameSpot was waaaaaaaaaay off.
