GRiD: Final Version Better Than Demo

After over 1 million users downloaded the demo, it seems that GRiD could end up being one of the most popular games of the year. And with more good news, we turn to the game's Executive Producer, who recently posted some updates over at the Codemasters forums.

That demo, as fun as it was, isn't entirely indicative of the final product. The game will feature several improvements, and it starts with the fact that "each and every frame" will be "v-synced, for a rock solid display with no tearing." Furthermore, the frame rate should sit at an acceptable 30 frames per second "99% of the time," so that's a definite bonus. Lastly, he mentioned something that PS3 owners should be most happy with: there is no "lead platform" for GRiD ; "each version of the game had dedicated teams to get the most out of each." For those of us who are sick of crappy ports, this is exactly what we needed to hear, and developers who have taken the "individual team for each console" approach in the past have succeeded nicely.

Oh, and we can expect a few more improvements not long after the game's release, when the devs release a patch. All in all, GRiD has some good word of mouth going now.
