Bad Company Demo Set For June 5

We've been hoping for a look at EA's Battlefield: Bad Company ever since it was announced last year, and it appears we will finally get our chance. Of course, we'll get that chance even sooner if we pre-order the game.

According to the game's official site , the "single-player and multiplayer demo" will be available on June 5 on both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace. And if you decide to pre-order the game now, you'll be able to download that demo a week earlier on May 29. Now, we see this as a little backwards – wouldn't most gamers want to play the demo before pre-ordering? – but hey, a bonus is a bonus. Oh, and they're tossing in another little bonus: a sniper rifle, which is guaranteed to be most useful. You have the option of pre-ordering the game online or down at your local GameStop, and we really haven't heard anything bad about this one. We know FPSs are a dime a dozen these days, but with Haze flopping about like a dying fish out of water, perhaps Battlefield: Bad Company can be a cure-all tonic.

Then again, maybe we'll actually have to wait until the next Call of Duty or something before another truly fantastic FPS drops. There are plenty of encouraging projects out there, though!
