Mystery Game Confirmed: Siren PS3

Yesterday, we learned about a mystery countdown page at the official Japanese PlayStation site, and as of now, we still have 35 hours to go. But perhaps unfortunately, Famitsu has erased any drama the final 00:00:00 unveiling would've had, as the Japanese gaming mag has already revealed the game in question.

According to Kotaku and Famitsu, when that countdown is done, Sony will reveal Siren: New Translation , the next installment in the intriguing survival/horror series that resonated on the PS2 with fans of the genre. This new Siren will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 (it's published by Sony, so…duh) and evidently, it's a "reworking" of the original title. It has managed to elude game journalists very well, though, as it's already 90% complete and the final game will hit stores on July 24. Even better, Sony is preparing a demo for April 24, which is just around the corner. However, we assume these dates correspond only to Japan, but we'll try to confirm US and European dates for you very soon. We'd also like to get a better understanding of the word "rework," because we're wondering – besides the obvious graphical upgrade – what may be added/enhanced in New Translation .

Well, considering how far along they are in the development process, we figure we'll be seeing plenty of new details and media over the next few weeks. And when the info arrives, we'll be sure to get up a preview for ya.
