Ready At Dawn: PS3 Will Win Console War

Last week, we told you about Ready at Dawn's intention to move away from the PSP , but the developer didn't provide any specifics at that time. Well, we may now have a better idea as to the team's direction, thanks to studio head Didier Malenfant.

Malenfant told Next-Gen.biz that Ready at Dawn believes the PlayStation 3 will probably win the console war, even though he believes the next generation will be even closer.

“I think PS3 will win this generation when all is said and done,” said Ready at Dawn’s president. “What I’m more curious about is the next one really. Microsoft made a dent this time around and can stand to finally get the upper hand if they stick it out and/or if Sony stays complacent like they did early on in this generation. That’s where the real fight is going to be in my opinion.”

The PS3 certainly appears to be on a roll after the Blu-Ray victory, and is poised to have more than a few excellent pieces of software in 2008. Malenfant wouldn't bring Nintendo into the discussion simply because he believes they're targeting a different demographic (and they are), "so it's not really comparable." Now, as for Ready at Dawn's plans, it seems they're willing to work on both the PS3 and Xbox 360, which is probably good news for everyone. Whenever the team decides to drop a hint regarding their next project, we'll be sure to tell ya about it. But sorry, PSP owners, it won't be God of War: Chains of Olympus 2 .
