Phil Harrison just recently said it best: "you can't believe everything you read on the Internet."
You may have noticed one of the biggest news articles that ripped across the Internet yesterday, claiming that a Rockstar employee had said the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV was "superior" to the PlayStation 3 version. This started on the the rrlmuk forums , and spread like wildfire from there. Evidently, the poster in question said he was Rockstar's Neil Corbett, and talked about better textures and faster loading times on the 360, which quickly enlivened 360 owners and disappointed PS3 owners. But according to the Videogaming247 blog, Rockstar has confirmed that the reported comments were not from Corbett.
“Regarding the [story],” said a Rockstar spokesperson. “I can confirm that this is not Neil Corbett from Rockstar North that has been posting on rllmuk.”
So let's reinforce the facts: we've known that the PS3 version of GTAIV was behind, but Rockstar continues to say that both versions will be extremely similar, if not identical. They haven't wavered on this standpoint one little bit, and that's that.
