Ben-DutkaPlayStation 3 owners were probably excited when they learned Capcom would be bringing Lost Planet: Extreme Condition , previously exclusive to the Xbox 360, to Sony's console. They were likely even more excited when it was announced a playable demo would arrive on the PlayStation Store before the game's release. However – and forgive the obvious play-on-words – the Network has temporarily "lost" the Lost Planet demo.
Those of you looking to download it yesterday may have noticed it quite simply didn't exist. As it turns out, Sony was forced to take the demo off the Store for a reason; the company's senior director of communications explained at the official PlayStation blog:
"The multiplayer demo for Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is temporarily being removed from the PlayStation Network in order to address issues that have come to light. We will be working overtime to correct the issue and expect to upload a new version to the PlayStation Network as soon as possible that accurately reflects the incredible online features of the game. For those of you who have already downloaded the demo, the servers are being taken down until the new version is ready to go. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and your interest in Lost Planet! Keep an eye out here for more info…"
Well, okay. We suppose we can wait. After all, the full game doesn't arrive until February 26, so if we have to wait a few more days to sample the demo – especially if the team needs to do some repairs and cleaning up – that's fine by us.
