Game Informer slapped it on their January cover, the Internet was alive with all the details and information (some of which had to be clarified by Insomniac, but nevertheless), and now, it's one of the most anticipated titles of the year. Perhaps one of the most exciting things about this unveiling is that the team seems to be further along in development than expected…
After all, we had heard next to nothing about this sequel in 2007, but once the floodgates opened, it became clear this wasn't a brand new project in the early stages of development. With all the details we have now, it's obvious they're smack dab in the midst of the process. Furthermore, if Surfer Girl's latest rumor is true (which is definitely hit or miss), we're going to get another eyeful of Resistance 2 this month: an official trailer is going to drop in February, and we'll also get a video of the game in action. The latter tidbit is most intriguing, because it means Insomniac is at a point where they can show off actual gameplay!
The trailer and gameplay video haven't been confirmed by any official source, but we'd love to think this is true. We'd also like to think the game might make an appearance at the Game Developers Conference in a few weeks time, which would make sense. But either way, Resistance 2 is definitely a giant 2008 blockbuster, so we'll keep an eye on things.
