Previously, we thought the playable demo for Devil May Cry 4 would arrive on January 31, but IGN has reported the demo will actually hit this week for both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace, on Thursday, January 24.
The highly anticipated demo will include several areas taken directly from the final game, and they're specifically selected to show off the title's awesome environments. Players will be introduced to Nero for the first time (Dante was the main character in all prior installments in the series), and tutorials will be featured to help you learn about the new Devil Bringer ability. The huge fire demon we've been hearing so much about, Belial, will be your final opponent in the demo, and that will probably represent a significant challenge. Remember, DMC3 was brutally difficult before the Special Edition toned the Normal mode down a notch, so let's hope we don't have to deal with the same thing in DMC4. We love a challenge, of course, but damn…give us a little break this time, Capcom.
Devil May Cry 4 is scheduled to hit store shelves on February 6, and if you're on the fence about a purchase, make sure you download this demo on Thursday. The game is going to kick ass, plain and simple, but you just need to find out if it's something you're going to enjoy. Have fun!
