GTAIV Dated, Priced For Australia?

Oh, looky! Yet another rumor regarding the Grand Theft Auto IV release date, and this one even includes possible price points. Well, for Australia, anyway.

Now, as you probably already know, GTAIV squeezed through with a retail-acceptable 15+ rating in the land down under, so maybe it shouldn't surprise us to see it popping up on store radar. According to GamePlayer, Australian online games retailer, Games Warehouse, has listed both a release date and price point for the standard and collectors edition of the most anticipated title of 2008. Both versions are scheduled to arrive on March 15; the standard copy will cost AU$108.95 while the collectors will go for AU$149.95. However, and this is exceedingly bizarre, the PS3 version of the standard edition will retail for AU$119.95. Uh…anybody know why the PS3 version should be more expensive?

The collectors edition was unveiled earlier this year, but in case you missed it, this bad boy includes a metal safety deposit box, an art book, soundtrack CD, Rockstar keychain, a limited edition Rockstar duffel bag, and – oh yeah – a copy of the game. But we'd sure love to know why the standard version on the PS3 is more expensive than the Xbox 360 version. We'd also like to know where Games Warehouse got their information from because both Take-Two and Rockstar haven't said anything official. All we know is the game should hit some time between February and April in the US, but that's it. Australia must be, like, "in the know," or something.
