No more rumors, no more speculation: today, Capcom has confirmed that a playable demo of Devil May Cry 4 will arrive for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Expect to see it hit the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace some time in early 2008; we'll be one of the first to download and play, that's for damn sure!
We'll finally be able to see if Nero is as big of a bad-ass as Dante, as we progress through a "sampling of sections" from the full game, especially selected to "showcase Devil May Cry 4 's varied locales." Nero has some pretty interesting abilities, too (different from Dante's in the past), thanks to the Devil Bringer, so that's one aspect of the demo we can't wait to experience. Lastly, being able to sample the brand new Exceed system should be treat as well. Nero will be able to "rev up" his sword to unleash a massive set of devastating combos, and if you wish to defeat Berial at the end of the demo, you had best come to terms with Nero's moves.
The press release claims the game will "fully demonstrate" the power of next-gen consoles, so we should expect great things from the absorbing world of Fortuna. And remember, not only is this sweet honey of an action title running at a smooth 60 frames per second, but it will also support 720p HD resolution. We'll let you know as soon as the demo hits next year because it'll be huge .
