NPD Says No Sale Numbers For You!

In what may be one of the most disappointing announcements of the year (for me, at least), NPD Fun Group, the wonderful people who have graced us with their videogame sales tracking decided they didn't want to be wonderful anymore. As of now, the company has announced that they will no longer allow public distribution of their numbers; which means ginormous videogame forums can no longer post the information for all eyes to see, even if the numbers leak.

So how do we go about getting sales data now? We don't. It's all up to Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo to decide whether or not they'll want to supply the numbers monthly, and we don't see that happening. In order to obtain the numbers legitimately, you'll have to pay NPD a hefty sum of money…we're talking five-digit sums. We may still see quarterly numbers, but that's about it. All in all, this is certainly a disappointing revelation. Hopefully, a solution can be found.

And if anybody cites either one of the videogame charts websites as a solution, I will see to it that you be arrested by the CIA.
