Ben-DutkaAs usual, November is going to be an absolutely ridiculous month for gamers. We all hope you've been saving a bit of money throughout 2007, but you are going to need it. One of the potentially top titles leading the charge this month is Ubisoft's highly anticipated and closely followed action/adventure title, Assassin's Creed . Because it's so huge – and only a few weeks away – we've been scouring the Internet in the hopes of finding early reviews.
Well, we've found evidence of one of the first, although it's from an unlikely source. While we believe such a game would appeal more to Western gamers, the latest issue of Famitsu has the first scores we've found…and they're pretty darn impressive. Creed 's overall score is a 37/40, which comes from two perfect 10s, a 9 and an 8. Again, this isn't the type of game Japanese gamers are going to adore, so this is very good news (remember, Famitsu gave this exact same score to Halo 3 ). According to a brief translation by Xbox360Fanboy, the reviewers were "impressed by the story, presentation, and addicting acrobatics," and went on to say that this game is a "true next-gen title."
The only negatives mentioned were the "button combat" (not sure what that means, unless they're talking about that style popularized by God of War and Resident Evil 4 ), somewhat confusing map, and a camera that goes a bit wacky every now and then. But overall, it seems to be a damn fine product, and that's exactly what we had hoped for. Stay tuned for our review in the coming weeks!
