Rumor: Insomniac Founder Forming Own Studio?

Whenever we get closer to the holiday season, the rumor mills start to churn faster and faster. Some of these rumors are more absurd than others – and therefore, we don't give them much attention – but there are those that are both intriguing and plausible. Despite not having any concrete evidence whatsoever, this is one of those that just might end up being true. You never know.

There's a minor uproar going on over at the GameFAQs forums, as it seems one member is claiming that Insomniac Games founder Ted Price is about to jump ship; he plans to create his own development studio. This member, who goes by the forum name "Ashunv," says a friend of his was hired as an animation intern several months ago. During his short stay there, this friend says Ted Price – and others – are leaving Insomniac for the aforementioned reason. Apparently, this decision was made quite some time ago, but won't actually take effect until later this year, presumably after the release of Insomniac's highly anticipated title, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction .

Normally, we don't entertain forum rumors, but there is reason to believe this one might actually be true. Furthermore, it appears this topic will be addressed in an upcoming Insomniac podcast, and the team will issue an official statement immediately after. That's all we know for now, but we do have one question- if it's true, does this have any impact on that Resistance: Fall of Man sequel we've been waiting so patiently to hear about…?
