It's time for another major change in the gaming industry: yet another figurehead from one of the "Big 3" is moving on to pursue other endeavors.
Senior Director of Corporate Communications at Sony Computer Entertainment America, Dave Karraker, has announced he will be leaving the company and the gaming industry entirely. We've known and come to like Karraker over the past year at SCEA; he quickly became one of the electronic giant's key spokesmen, and he was responsible for most of the press releases and general news related to the PS3. Most recently, we've seen him talk about PlayStation Home and the subject of PS3/PSP connectivity, but unfortunately, his stay with Sony is coming to an end.
"I have enjoyed immensely my tenure at SCEA and think the company and its brands are very well positioned to have an exceptional holiday and a very bright future. I look forward to continuing to follow this industry as a gamer, rather than a spokesperson," Karraker said in a released statement earlier today.
Well, it's good to know he's a true gamer, anyway. Karraker will be taking a position as the head of PR and events for Skyy Spirits. From games to hard liquor, huh? Yeah, we can see that…perhaps the two go hand-in-hand sometimes.
