Due to the recent Madden NFL 08 PS3 debacle, sports fans have been disappointed in EA's general effort regarding their productions for Sony's next-gen console. And of course, they start to wonder: what about other sports titles from their competitors? Will they suffer from the same sluggish framerate and gameplay issues? 2K Sports says no.
In an interview with CVG, 2K Sports' PR Manager Anthony Chau answered a question about NBA 2K8 , and confirmed that both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions would run at 60fps. This comes in the face of many reports of Madden NFL 08 PS3 "stuttering too often" and slowing down due to an inferior 30fps. In response, EA said that "many publishers have been developing titles for over 3 1/2 years while everyone who publishes now for the PlayStation 3 with the exception of Sony has been developing for the PlayStation 3 for only a little over one full year."
Yeah, we understand that, but there are plenty of developers out there who are doing very well with the PS3. Many are working closely with Sony to get as much as they can out of the system, and now, 2K Sports says we shouldn't expect any major differences between their PS3 and Xbox 360 productions. Well, good. At least someone's gonna get it right.
