It's rapidly becoming one of the biggest gaming shows in the world, and this year's attendance total – from both visitors and exhibitors – is primed to break records. There are already 34% more exhibitors at this year's Games Convention 2007 in Leipzig, Germany, and they expect over 200,000 total visitors before the event comes to a close in a few days time.
Those 200,000 will peruse the 503 exhibitors from 31 different countries, which is way up from any number previously recorded at the GC event.
"This year I am convinced we will have up to 200,000 visitors at the GC," said MD of Leipzig Messe Josef Rahmen. "Last year saw a total of 183,000 visitors welcomed to the exhibition centre site. The GC is continuing to build upon its position as the leading European fair. This year we are also expecting over 9,000 trade visitors." (source: MCVUK)
On top of that massive crowd, about 2,800 journalists (from over 35 countries) are also going to be around, checking everything out. So it's looking like one hell of a party over there in Germany, and we'll be sure to keep you updated with any big news.
