This may come as a shock to you, so we hope you're sitting down: Eidos' Ian Livingstone has told SPOnG that a new Tomb Raider is already "well into development." Yep, they're doing a next-gen game featuring the world's favorite curvaceous heroine, Lara Croft…if you can believe it. I mean, who could've predicted this?
He didn't go into details, but the rumor is that this new title will be the second game in a trilogy set that began with Tomb Raider: Legend . That one released last year for several platforms – including the Xbox 360 – and was one of the most critically acclaimed entries in the series. Of course, not all installments in the long-running franchise have been good; 2003's The Angel of Darkness wasn't anything more than mediocre.
But hey, a new Tomb Raider is on the way, and we can't wait to hear more details. The last two – including the very solid Anniversary – were a return to glory for the series, and we only expect more good things from Lara's next…er…next-generation adventure.
