Dark Resurrection Online Hits Japanese Store On August 1

We heard about Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection going online some time ago, but this is the first we're hearing about an arrival date: August 1st for Japan. This is according to a translated press release from Namco Bandai yesterday, and it's great news for fighting fans everywhere.

The full game – with the new online mode included – will cost 2,800 yen, while the expansion pack – online mode only, to add to the game if you already have it – will cost 1,000 yen. The former will be a 550MB download while the expansion will clock in at 220MB; either will be well worth your time if you're a die-hard lover of the genre. This is how we understand the press release as it stands, although we might have to update this story with further changes if the translation wasn't good enough.

No word on when Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online will arrive in the U.S. or other regions, but with an August 1 Japan release, we're hoping to see it on the North American PlayStation Store by the fall.
