Level 5 introduced White Knight Story , an upcoming PS3 exclusive RPG, at last year's Tokyo Game Show, and boy, it sure looked great. The developers even showed off a full gameplay trailer , which got every RPG fan on earth plenty excited. Unfortunately, it got pushed out of 2007 earlier this year, and we haven't heard much about it since.
However, Level 5 used today's PlayStation Premier event to announce that White Knight Story would once again be at the Tokyo Game Show, only this time, it'll be playable! But that's not all: Level 5 CEO Akihiro Hino brought the game to the event today, and played the game before a delighted crowd. Famitsu.com details the demonstration, which included the character creation process; the very same system the team used to create the main characters and each of the 1000+ NPCs in the game.
The demo moved into battle preparation and then actual combat, with the White Knight doing battle against an equally giant enemy. It was noticed that the smaller, human-sized characters continued fighting while the two behemoths went at it. Hino finished by saying Level 5 is working to "bring the game's quality up" for its playable debut at TGS in a few months. We can't wait to see more of this, and we're also hoping to get an official release date at that time.
