Pre-E3 2007: PSX Extreme Has Landed

Live and direct, coming to you all the time…well sort of. I'm officially in Santa Monica ready (I think) for the big show on Wednesday. The view from my hotel is absolutely beautiful. I'm technically in Marina Del Rey, and not Santa Monica, but this 'city' is so small that most folk still refer it to as Santa Monica. Do you guys know which office is just a few blocks away from my hotel? Electronic Arts. I was pretty surprised to see both of their buildings as I was approaching the hotel.

Anyways, as far as the show is concerned, Sony's conference is scheduled for Wednesday 11:30AM PST. Hopefully the conference starts on time, as Sony is known for experiencing slight delays. I'm definitely excited to see Killzone 2, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ratchet, the new Socom, etc., …but I pray that Sony has Gran Turismo 5/GTHD Concept (whatever you want to call it) on display. I think game content should be fantastic, especially from Sony's side. There's a ton of other stuff I can't wait to play, like Assassin's Creed, Unreal Tournament 3, Need for Speed: Pro Street, Haze, and of course…Metal Gear Solid 4. It's known that we'll have a new MGS4 trailer at the show, but no rumbling about the presence of a playable preview.

Then there's the PSP, and with Sony about to unleash the baby PlayStation's 333Mhz capability, I expect to be quite amazed with the visuals of the upcoming software. God of War: Chains of Olympus is, allegedly, one of the very first games running at 333Mhz – but that remains to be confirmed.

I'm still not holding my breath, as far as the show's smoothness goes. Even though only 3000 people were invited, it still leaves me wondering if there'll be enough kiosks for everyone to use. Not to mention the fact that the booths are a mere 20×20 (about the size of your average living room). We'll see in just a few short days. Stay posted for my hands-on impressions and previews, meanwhile Ben brings you guys the latest in videos and news coverage.

In the meantime, here's a pic of my view.
