Okay, you've never seen this before.
There are those who said it couldn't be done but now, it has been done: Somebody has beaten Mike Tyson's Punch Out! …blindfolded.
The game is hard enough when you're looking at the screen, but Mike Wedge took it to another level. He uploaded a video where he takes down the first 13 fighters by KO and then Mike Tyson by decision. He says he's "on the high of my life right now," which makes sense considering the achievement is pretty ridiculous. He did, however, do this with the remastered version of the game on Wii. Up next, though, is the original NES version…can he do it again?
This is just silly; check it out:
Never could beat Tyson in this 🙂 The game should be a masterclass demonstrating how to make games both incredibly challenging, but so fun you don't even care. I go back to this game like clockwork every two or three years, can't beat it, and have an absolute blast getting whooped by bald bull or, if I can get that far, Tyson/Sandman himself.
And waaaaaait a second — the Mike Tyson version isn't on the Wii, none of the re-releases feature Tyson's likeness… right?
You are correct, after his whole biting incident. He was removed from the game.
That's not why he was removed. Nintendo's license for his likeness expired and when he lost to Buster Douglas they decided not to renew it.
So either this guy is playing a pirated version of the original on his Wii, or he's faking it. I'll assume it's the former but that's a little strange…
Not necessarily as the Mike Tyson version came out on the Wii in 2007.
And it's possible to blindfold Super Punch Out as well as the fighters in that game also had a preset pattern you could follow, just like the original, to knock them all out really quick and easy. Assuming you timed everything perfectly, and that's where the challenge came in.
