PSN Status Changed From “Intermittent” To “Heavy Traffic”

Things are progressing, at least.

For the past few days, the status of the PlayStation Network has been labeled as "intermittent connectivity," as seen at the support page .

This was due to the DDoS attacks that got so much attention over the holiday break. Now, though, that status has changed to "heavy traffic," which means most PSN users are using the service. That's a good sign but on the downside, due to that massive amount of traffic on New Year's Day, "some latency may be experienced." We can live with that, provided the problems aren't caused by more hackers with gigantic ego issues.

How's the PSN working for you?

PSN has been working pretty good for me when I have been online. I did not get on until about Sunday after spending time with family and friends. I missed the mess that others experienced.

It does just take a few , uh hum, individuals to mess it up for everyone else though. They target the corporations, but all the collateral damage is on the users. So really benefits from all this. A few egos who have some justification for doing it.

OR maybe like Alfred said in Batman Dark Knight and I paraphrase I think "Some people just like to see the world burn".

Anyway, keep playing!

It worked fine for me, but I didn't try to do too much on it, either.

They should change the name to "Playstation Nevwork"…
The worse thing is that Sony saw fit to tie the "Nevwork" to Netflix and Amazon Prime, if the "Nevwork" is down I can't watch anything else on it 🙁 I doubt I'll rely on the PS4 for my movie watching, will likely build an HTPC soon.

I've had no problems since it came back up. Messages take forever to send and receive on the PS4, but it was like that before the DDoS.

I haven't had any issues for nearly 2 days… Or has it been one day? Either way, I finally attempted signing on after changing a few dozen passwords.

Far more pissed that these little donkeys released more account info, albeit it consisted of people with infections and not an actual hack into Sony's system.

It's been working fine for me ever since I was able to log in without having the change the MTU.

Been working fine for me. I just got a Spam message. Oh u get a free $50 PSN voucher when u send that particular message to all ur PSN friends, I'm like BS.. I got a message similar like that in the past tried it first, that sh!t don't work, so I don't bother with that crap nonsense. Hmm, interesting if we do get 2 free games again.
