Two things:
1. I'm all for not giving these hacker twerps any attention. The only reason they do any of this is for attention. 2. Sadly, as I have to post news and it's New Year's Eve, there isn't much else to talk about.
You've probably already heard that the FBI is investigating Lizard Squad for the DDoS attacks on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live services over the holiday break. Well, it appears that investigation has already resulted in one arrest, as reported by The Daily Dot .
A search warrant was issued for 22-year-old Vinnie Omari of Twickenham, who said: "They took everything. Xbox One, phones, laptops, computer USBs, etc." A press release from The Thames Valley Police shows Omari was arrested on December 30 "on suspicion of fraud by false representation and Computer Misuse Act offenses." He's due in court in March 2015. Furthermore, another person associated with Lizard Squad, going by "Ryan," is under the FBI's microscope.
Lizard Squad's reaction:
That's a little different than the "yawn" reaction from before, isn't it? We've gone from pretending to be bored to defiant. What's next? Justification? Yeah, don't really care.
It's actually kinda cute. lol "King Lizard"
Sounds about right, actually.
Not much of a leader… totally cool about his lackeys getting sacked.
Also, "Xbox 1"… so he's the one attacking PSN? :p
Enjoy the 10 to 25 years in prison good sir.
King Lizard? And he'll never go down? Well…yeah. Obviously. What you'll do is sellout your friends in order to get a getoutofjailfreecard. Definitely something a venomous loser would do.
well yeah well good ridins we don't need PSN and XBLive going down anymore and the xb1 attacking psn thats just funny but not really
happy gaming
Lmfao at King lizard. Hes saying that because he knows he'll be Arrested. Hes a pasty white boy scared teen. I hope he dont drop the soap in the shower.
I'd give em a few days before they get put in p.c if not on their first day, some good prison B!tch meat right there
Why would these guys hurt gamers? These hackers are truly bad guys.
They go after PSN and Live because both services are, relatively speaking, small fish. The smaller the network, the easier it is to DDoS, because fewer requests are needed to overwhelm the network.
If they tried the same kiddie-script tactics against a truly large network like Google or Yahoo or FB, we'd never even notice, because their tactics wouldn't even put a dent in networks of that size.
I don't understand why North Korea is still at the top of the FBI's suspect list unless there's a link between them and the lizard squad. Like maybe some sort of hacker bounty placed on Sony from N. Korea and the lizard squad wanted to collect on it.
the korea thing is a separate hack attack
It wasnt north korea who hacked sony pictures. It was a disgruntled employee that was fired in may. He made it look like it was n korea by tracing the hack to china.

Burn em at the stake. I want a console hacker Inquisition called to order.
That tweet does kinda show the fbi are on the right track. I interpret it as, k you got one of my guys, but the leader still stands.
Such young talents being put to waste. Shame.
My favorite thing about Lizard Squad has been their attitude that what they're doing is at all impressive or challenging, when in fact any botard can arrange a DDoS attack on relatively small networks like PSN or Live.
If they manage to take down Google or Facebook, I'll be impressed.
