Mega-Man X4 And X5 Heading To PS3, Vita Next Month

The Blue Bomber is PlayStation-bound.

Sadly, I'm not talking about a new Mega-Man entry, but at least PlayStation 3 and Vita owners will soon gain access to two great action/platformers.

As revealed by Capcom , it's Mega-Man X4 and Mega-Man X5 ; the former will land on the PSN in North America on September 2, and X5 will drop a week later on September 9. Mega-Man X4 was the first title to embrace the 32-bit Sega Saturn and PlayStation, if you remember your video game history.

I was never that big of a Mega-Man fan. These games were just too hard; they always felt like a chore to me. I enjoyed watching others play these adventures, though, as I was interested to see if the controller would survive. It didn't always.

X4 wasn't very hard, Ben, if you want to give that one a try. X5 was tough, and X6 was brutal. I could sail through the first three mega man X's on SNES without ever dying (except for the secret weapon requirements, of course).

I looooved Mega Man X series…. wish they'd pick it up again. They never concluded wtf happened at the end of X8 to Axel, either…..

Awesome series.

Funnily enough I never found the x series to be difficult at all. It missed the difficulty of the regular series. So far x4 and 8 are my favorite out of the whole series.

A lot of the X story was expanded on in the Mega Man Zero, ZX and one other X series spin-off/sequel. They showed what happened to everyone and how the story sort of ended. I wont spoil it for you. Whether it was canon or not i don't know. but most who played all those games/hand held games seem to think so. Personally i wasn't a fan of the direction of how things transpired.

I didn't find the difficulty in 5 and 6 broken. It could be easy or difficult depending on how you tackled the nightmare effect and how completely you tidied up and how many reploids you rescued. But yes, the X series was no where near as difficult as the originals. Mostly because of how much more mobility you have with dashing.

Underdog did you complete the original Mega Man?
I never did. I got into Wiley's castle and killed the big yellow robot thing (Gutsdozer?) that warped from side to side. But because the game had the crappiest checkpoint system I gave up.

I doubt I could now. You mean the original with Cut Man, etc?

I did, but when I was a kid, I could do anything in the video game world. I don't know why I suck as an adult now. lol

The X games were only good on Snes, X-4 was still decent but the others? they were was awful plus the difficult got broken after X-4 I see a lot of people complain about Dark Souls but some X games on PSX were more brutal.

Part of the problem is that your actions and choices would affect the make up of some levels. The Nightmare effect and all that.

At one point I did something that made one level made up entirely of spikes… needed a specific armour to get through it. Possible without, but man… so so so pricise. lol

Nice. I played through the first couple X games. I can't remember if I had played 3. I am interested in X4 and X5.

Megaman X4 – X6 weren't so hard.. You just need a little practice to master those games. I've finished all of them, including X7 and X8 on the ps2.. ^_^
