Yesterday, Ubisoft announced Assassin's Creed Rogue , the new title designed specifically for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
And now, as found in the new September issue of Game Informer, we've got a bunch of new details for the fresh adventure. Perhaps first on the list is the fact that Rogue will not offer a multiplayer component.
In contrast, the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Unity – set for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC – will feature four-player co-op. Well, we don't need the multiplayer if the campaign is good enough and with this franchise, that's usually the case. As for the rest of the pertinent details, check out GameSpot's rundown . Here are a few of our favorites:
— The story will tell how Shay left the Order to become a Templar; you will play "many" missions as an Assassin before reaching a point where Shay says, "This is wrong, and I have to do something about it."
— There is an "overt link" between Assassin's Creed Rogue and Assassin's Creed Unity, and it happens near the final moment of the game. "There is a tie-in," Ubisoft says about the games.
— Your ship is called the Morrigan; is smaller than Jackdaw from Black Flag because it needs to navigate rivers and narrow channels.
— Your vessel can be boarded by enemy forces, so you'll need to defend your crew to survive.
— You can also drop oil barrels into the water and light them on fire to keep people from following you.
— You can swim in the frigid waters, but you'll see the screen freezing up and your health going down if you stay in too long.
— Eagle vision has been enhanced, and now features a compass ring around your character, pointing out objects and shining red to indicate a threat.
— Being a Templar has its advantages, like better, more high-tech weapons (air rifle, grenade launcher, smoke grenades, etc.)
— New Assassin Interception feature lets you intercept assassination targets. "What if [the Templar] knows who the target is and wants to stop the Assassin? That's a question that we've answered with gameplay in Assassin's Creed Rogue," Ubisoft says.
— Assassin's Creed's III's Haytham Kenway makes an appearance.
Assassin's Creed Rogue will land on store shelves in North America on November 11.
I don't know how I'll feel killing off my fellow brethren.
Ya it seems…wrong. Although it is an interesting concept for the game.
The quality of the game is my primary concern. How long had has the game been in development?
Probably the same length of time as the others considering there's no MP, and I'd guess the quality would be as we expect it to be and if it is a AAA game they may even sell more of Rogue than Unity because the user base is so much larger on last gen.
Personally, I'll probably pick this up when it's down around $20 if it is indeed a AAA production.
Ubi puts out good quality products, this is no concern of mine. Sounds promising can not wait to see and hear more..
Ugh… Stop making it sound fascinating <_<
well i have found alot of ppl are getting sick of AC but i relly enjoy following the story and the game play is usually pritty decent and the games of AC that i have play have all been good as far as i am concerned and well i'm look forward to both games considering i can get both of them with my ps3 and ps4
