The rumors were correct.
Ubisoft has officially announced Assassin's Creed Rogue , the new franchise entry designed specifically for previous-gen consoles. It will launch for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11 (no mention was made of a PC release).
Developed by Ubisoft Sofia in collaboration with other teams in Singapore, Montreal, Quebec, Chengdu, Milan and Bucharest, this new effort is set in the mid-18th century during the Seven Years' War. Players will explore a variety of locations throughout North America, including New York and the Appalachian River Valley. There will also be quite a bit of sailing and naval warfare involved, as you'll spend some time on the North Atlantic seas.
The protagonist is a former Templar named Shay Patrick Cormac, and he has been betrayed by the Brotherhood; hence, the title. This narrative finishes off the story trilogy that began with Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag . This means that apparently, the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Unity offers a different narrative arc.
So, who's up for two AC titles this year?
Sorry Ben. I'm not. I'll just stick with the marque AC releases that sit on the forefront of the franchise. That's already a whole lot of time to invest even at that.
I'm scared to buy this. I want it, but I'm afraid it might come to current gen consoles at a later date, then I'll feel dumb for not waiting… I don't know.

it probably will but it will feel like a last-gen game remastered for the current gen…. errr. wait. I suppose that's 95% of what's current gen right now so if that kind of gaming floats your boat then never mind.

AC has always been a d1 buy for me. And i have never been disappointed.
I sure am! These two titles will surely keep me busy for some months.

Why….why does this one interest me more than Unity does?
Alright sure, maybe we can get another one announced next month!?
Does it really matter since both these games have been in development for more then 2 years. AC no matter the controversy remains one of the best series IMO last gen as it will this gen…
That's what I was thinking too lol
saturation
I'm actually relieved by this announcement. I was concerned that the last-gen AC game we had been hearing about would get a new location which would overshadow the next-gen version. Glad to see they are sticking with a similar local to ACIV. Means I don't need to bother with this game as the story doesn't sound too interesting to me.
Looking forward to Unity though, just maybe not as much as I looked forward to ACIV.
I am tempted by this. I lost interest in AC3 but have really enjoyed Black Flag. Being a PS3 gamer still, I am happy to see there are still some good games coming out for it.
I agree black flag did it for me, dont know how they will top blackflag really.
i have to day i am gald i kept my ps3 even more now not that i would have gotten rid of it but this is good i can get both games yay some moe some more AC
happy gaming
If they find a way to make us go to feudal japan , i ll care again .
Bought black flag because of the setting we rarely se in games .
They can salvage quite a bit by sticking to european background. They will need to hire japanese developers and voice actors to be historically accurate. I doubt they wil ever do that. It will not sell if its too accurate.
I can forsee, like in Sleeping dogs they will hire chinese voice actors that cannot speak Chinese, end up making them speak english so they can still have the accent
Iam sure they said countless times that feudal japan is not a setting they will consider for AC. So maybe its time to let that go, will not happen..
This might be a bit of fanboy topic, why does the ad show xbox game in front of ps3? Ps3 box is smaller, it makes more sense the other way around.
Like some website that claims to not cater to either platform, have me scroll down to the bottom for ps4 news while xbon 360 and one on top. Its not sorted alphabetical order, its not by popularity or wii and ps4 is the top
Simple. Where do you suppose some funding for advertising comes from? 🙂
nah, i'll pass on this. I'll be getting AC unity for ps4.. that AC game is enough for me this year..
