Developer Naughty Dog has indeed moved on to bigger and better things since the early says of PlayStation, when Crash was one of their claims to fame. The other was the esteemed Jak & Daxter series.
But of course, those aren't even remotely similar to the Uncharted and The Last Of Us franchises, so some might assume that the team would never go back to the good ol' days. Well, don't be too hasty. During a recent IGN interview with Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer, we find that Crash Bandicoot hasn't disappeared from memory:
"It's never off the table. It's not too much time passing, but it's the same issues we explored with the Jak game: Is it something that makes sense to us now? I mean, we still have people that worked on the Crash games in the studio. We never forget our past and it'd be great for nostalgic reasons. It'd be the same reason as why there isn't a Jak 4: I don't know if it's playing to our strengths right now."
Do you want to see another Crash ? Granted, platformers aren't what they once were, and it'd be difficult to produce a truly blockbuster game that qualifies as a strict platformer. But if anyone can do it, it's Naughty Dog, right?
I really want a new and true Crash Bandicoot by Naughty Dog. So stop teasing me already and take my money. I know you wanna Naughty Dog.

I don't think even an ND Platformer could make this thing a huge seller with tons of love.
That said, I think they should put some of the cub scouts on the game and aim for making something decent that satisfies old fans and their nostalgia while the second team finishes Uncharted 4 and moves onto a new IP.
They should give playstation a game that can compete with Mario Kart 8. CTR2 perhaps?
While I liked Crash growing up, I'd rather Naughty Dog work on their new IPs and leave the past as the past.
TBH, I didn't even know they still owned the IP for Crash :/

when did this industry become the little sh*t sitting outside the fat camp every day licking a ice cream in front of everyone inside doing a hard workout and trying to resist temtation?
everyones just massive teasers now, i mean the liklyhood of a new crash game coming out of vendi who own the license is pretty much nill, so what chance does ND have?
sure id LOVE to see it happen, i want NOTHING more than to see ND back on crash.
but whats the point in giving fans false hope?
id be like sega coming out and saying shenmue sequel is not out of the question, or crapcom coming out and saying a megaman sequel is not out of the question, or M$ coming out and saying a banjo and kazooe game is not out of the question.
not saying its impossible, but neither is winning the lottery and how likely is that?
so sick of this industry just teasing things for the sake of it, then they have the hide to whinge when people are disappointed.
no f*cking sh*t sherlock people are going to be disappointed when you say a crash sequel is not out of the question, but it never comes!
would be much better of saying we dont own the license for it so its very unlikely will ever do a sequel.
for once tell your fans the truth, and treat them like half inteligent humans at least, instead of stringing them along like brain dead monkeys!
the first thing i ever bought on PSn was all the crash games during that last flash sale, so i think its safe to say i would be very excited for a new Crash
well i'll tell u now that if they make a new crash and/or jak game for the ps4 or the ps5 whenever that some along i'll be there day 1 would be so keen aye can't wait for another one of each of those games, oh yeah and CTR2 would be amazing or a proper crash nitro kart 2 would also be much appreciated
