There were a slew of fantastic JRPGs on the PS2, and it's great to see so many of them land on the PSN.
During a recent PlayStation Blogcast , it was confirmed that Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 would head to the PlayStation 3 via the PSN in North America. It should be available next week.
The game originally launched in 2009 and was a sequel to the first Devil Summoner . It was relatively well-received by critics – as all the entries in this great franchise usually are – so if you missed out, now's your chance. DS2 is the latest SMT title to hit the PS2 Classics, as we've seen excellent games like Nocturne and Persona 4 this year. With a heavy focus on story and a rewarding, in-depth combat mechanic, these bad boys can keep you occupied for a while.
Never finished Nocturne , though, and that always bugged me.
Related Game(s): Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2
I played Shing Megami Tensei Nocture (is that in the PSN store?), Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2, and Devil Summoner 1 & 2….. those were all epic PS2 classics for me and I'm glad it's out there for those that were never able to enjoy it.
The only PS2 RPG that I liked more than SMT: Nocture was Final Fantasy 10 other than that this series is one of my favorite. I support ATLUS with this franchise more than I support Square Enix Final Fantasy.
Oh this is fantastic news! We never got a release of the 2nd game In the UK, genuinely might purchase them both now 🙂
