It may be one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
That being said, Ted Price probably shouldn't quit his day job…
Anyway, to celebrate two decades of greatness at Insomniac Games, the studio has released this nostalgic music video that highlights their best accomplishments. What started with Spyro the Dragon has grown considerably, and we'll always respect the talented team at Insomniac.
I still kinda wish they remained a first-party Sony studio because let's face it, that's when we got their best stuff. Resistance FTW! But at the very least, we're reminded of all the great things Insomniac has delivered over the past two decades, and it's an impressive assortment of acclaimed franchises. We really can't forget that Ratchet & Clank is one of the very best IPs in this industry's history, either.
Insomniac, we still love you!
Keep on rocking, Insomniac.
Dead to me. But sadly, we sent them away by not loving Resistance as much as it deserved.
I want a PS4 Resistance 🙁
Sony should get Guerrilla Cambridge doing that. Let the main studio do KZ and the new IP. Cambridge has experience in making games fun and that's what Resistance needs. Not bombast, not spectacle; just creativity and fun.
I'd like them to team up with Insomniac on a new Resistance after their Xbone exclusive fails hard.
I loved Resistance: Fall of Man, it was the start of an AAA franchise. I also enjoyed Resistance 2, not as much but still a really enjoyable game. Resistance 3 though… was just such a misstep. Generic level design, a bland story, characters you don't care for (The lead having a huge identity crisis from R2) My experience with Resistance 3 was just such a disappointment – & I went in very hopeful I must say.
I thought Resistance 3 was the best of the trilogy. The way that it shifted the focus of the story to humans, rather than soldiers was a definite high point for me and the atmosphere of basically being a guerilla fighter in a war that is completely hopeless was astounding. Also, dem weapons…
To each his own, though.
This video makes me think that Sunset Overdrive is going to be something properly special. It's clear that this is the Insomniac that made the fun of Ratchet and Resistance, rather than the plodding po-facedness of Fuse. As long as that spirit is intact, I'm hopeful.
Still wish that SO wasn't an XBO exclusive, but. What little we've seen look incredible.
I get a bad vibe in my Shaman soul about Sunset Overdrive. Not cuz it's Xbone, I just get the feeling it will either try to do too much and not have a clear purpose or simply debut to a bunch of silence because I can't see who the fans would be for such a product.
Well… let's see which of us is right when it drops, eh? Would make a bet, but the geography thing makes payment exceptionally difficult 😀
keep making awsome rachet games and keep on going buys we behind you and i have to say that was pritty cool and just for the record i didn't realise that i came into excistance around the same time insomniac came into being so i have kinda grown up with this studio and there guys and rachet they were part of my child hood.
keep going guys u rock
happy gaming =)
Loved the video, & especially the ending.
Spyro 3 was the first game i played on my Playstation.
Rachet was the first game i played on my Playstation 2
Resistance was the first game i played on my Playstation 3
oh great this is really what we need!
a reminder of what the company use to be, and a reminder of how far from grace they have fallen.
kinda feel sorry for them because they only went down the sh*tter because they were in search for a larger audience as insomniac games have never sold well.
but they should of known doing that, especially starting of the crap that was R&C A41, would not set them up well.
really wish they would of accepted a buyout from $ony, that way they wouldnt have to worry about the poor sales of their games, and could of continued making amazing R&C games for the rest of time.
so sad to see a company whos history has made playstation, spyro was one of the best ps1 franchises, R&C one of ps2 and ps3s best, and resistance being one of ps3s best.
so sad to see a company who really has helped build playstation finish up in the state their in now.

Really hope they come back to give another whirl with some playstation love. I totally get them wanting to broaden their horizons and all that but do miss knowing something else was in development by them.
As much as it hurts to say, Their xbox one game looks kinda bad. Its really not something I would buy but I do wish them the best and that it does sell successfully.
Wow… that was awkward…
I hope they bounce back with something stellar. I played Resistance one and two and loved them but never got around to buying three. I really didn't like the demo if I recall correctly.
resistence with survival horror.. it would give resident evil a run for its money i mean really have a setting thats a bit darker have smaller alien variations you come into contact with like the ones that jump on you.. scavenge for bullets and food make it open world and be able to build hideouts in a bus/cave/building
take it to the present no more in the past, able to create guns and upgrade them i mean come on who doesnt want all this? and on ps4? whoo wee
